As long as we're on the recipie of cookies. There are other links out there for cakes as well as candy. I'll have to see if I saved any in my AOL messages.
I do have a simple candy recipie though and I've made these for the holidays.
Truffles
1 - 8 oz package of cream cheese, softened
1 bag of oreo cookies crushed
1 bag of nestles or any brand of milk chocolate chips
reserve 1/4 cup of crushed cookies
mix cream cheese and cookies together until smooth (I do this with electric beaters and then by hand)
form into 1 inch balls, refridgerate for about an hour. Melt the chocolate chips and dip each ball until coated. Sprinkle the reserved cookies on each one. Place on wax paper back in the fridge until hardened.
I've also used white chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies for christmas. Or sprinkled crushed pecans on top also.
And...you can also do this with the Golden Oreo's and white chocolate chips. My sister-in-law loved these, said they tasted like a white chocolate Reeses cup.
