Season 6 is finally here!
« on: February 02, 2010, 05:04:54 PM »
I can  hardly wait! It's only a few hours away now. Most of the tv sites are staying spoiler free about Lost. A few things have leaked out here and there. I don't know about you all, but I HATE spoilers. Lost is the one show I don't want to know anything about in advance. What do you say, gang? I say we stay spoiler free also.

That is alright with me. I don't read spoilers for other shows, only Days, so I wont' know anything anyway. LOL....so what else is new.

The show last night was good but really confusing.
  • Why is Sayid now the important one on the island? The one that will save them?
  • Why couldn't they save Juliette too? I thought having her show up in the bottom of the blown up hatch just to die as soon as Sawyer got her loose was dumb.
  • If Jacob is this magical powerful entity that another powerful magical entity couldn't kill, why could Ben kill him?
  • Why didn't the bomb going off make them all return to their normal lives? Obviosly it changed the past as the plane doesn't go down and the main characters all go in different directions after they land. So how then do the Oceanic survivors end up back on the island in the present in the same basic predicament they were in before Ben moved the island in season 4?
  • Who are these new others and what is up with that pool of water that changed color?
BTW: It was great seeing Boone and Claire and Charlie. But were was Shannon? I noticed too that Boone is the guy that plays the bad brother on Vampire Diaries. I never made that connection before.

-Shannon (Maggie Grace) is busy making movies, so they had to write her out somehow.

-The actress who plays Juliette is on the show V now.  Guess that's why she died.  Like you Kris, not sure why they bothered having her live for a few minutes.  Interesting what Miles heard her say from beyond the grave though "It worked".....

-I think Sayid just happened to be a usable body for Jacob to occupy....that's the only reason he is important.

-I would like to know why Desmond is now on the plane!

-If Ben could kill Jacob (the loophole I guess is someone else killing one of these 2 entities, they can't kill each other) why did the bullet that apparently hit Jacobs nemesis bounce off him?  It was fired by a third party.

-Not sure who these new others are either.  Other than the stewardess who was flirting with Jack--she's one of them.  And the children who brought the food into the temple.  I think those are the kids who disappeared off the beach at the beginnimg of the series.  I recognized their names.

-The paper that the leader of the others pulled out of the thing (wooden egyptian  thing) in Hurley's guitar case..obviously a list of names.  Remember the whole list of names that someone (Michael?) was working on?

So confusing, but I can't stop trying to figure it out!!!

If the plane didn't go down, then why are they still on the Island?  It was interesting when Charlie turned to Jack as he was escorted off the plane, "you should have let me die."  Some of the show was so far fetched, I had to laugh.  Lock isn't really Locke, but the smoke monster????  Unreal.  That's why I love this show so much. But it had better not end up being a stupid dream for all those on board the plane.

Great season opener! My head was buzzing after the show. I didn't fall asleep until around 2am. Not good considering I had to be up at 5am.

So many things to talk about. I loved that we finally got to find out more about the smoke monster. It's about time! Smokey and The Man in Black are one in the same.  I watched season 5 last weekend and I had a feeling Smokey and FakeJohn were one in the same. Did Smokey/Man in Black need someone that was dead to inhabit their body or did Smokey/Man in Black need someone who has previously crossed over the ash. Two times John has crossed the ash to get into Jacob's cabin. I guess only time will tell.

I think Des was on the plane because he was jumping through time like in The Constant.

I love how Jacob came to Hurley. I've always thought Hurley had a bigger role in this whole thing. Hurley is the only one who has never shot or killed anyone on the island. He's pure of heart.

I agree with Mama that Jacob is now in Sayid's body.

I think the reason we are seeing them on the island and back home is because we are seeing a parallel universe. Instead of flash forwards and flashbacks we are seeing flash sideways. lol  Although wouldn't they be in different times? The plane took off in 2004 so wouldn't those arriving in LA now be in that time while time on the island is 2007.

I know what else I wanted to comment on. The scene between John and Jack in LAX. John asked Jack what he had lost and Jack said his father. John explained it was only his father's body that was lost. Then Jack asked him what happened to him. Would you believe all this time after watching season after season over and over again it never once occurred to me to me that a spinal surgeon and a spinal cord injured man were on the island together. I can't believe I never say the connection between Jack and John before.

I preordered my Season 6 DVD's already, lol.  I could record it but the commercial one's are so much better, all that bounus material. I loved last night's show. I thought maybe the monster is the one occupying Sayid's body. The monster seems to take the form of dead people (Echo's brother, Jack's dad) I thought it may be a way into the temple for him to destroy Jacob's people. I really hope this is not a religion thing. I will be very disappointed if that is the way it goes.  I kept waiting for Sawyer to run and unbury Juliette to bring her to the water to revive her,lol

I've never liked the shows that center around Kate. I find them pretty boring.

I did love the exchange between Claire and Ethan. It was almost word for word the conversation they had previously. Freaky!

I loved the scene where Sawyer told us he was going to ask Juliet to marry him. My heart broke again. I really hope we get to see Sawyer and Juliet back together again when the show finally wraps up.

Terri, I didn't realize that was Ethan that was talking to Claire. I will have to watch closer if they play it again next week before the new show like they usually do. I always get more out of it the 2nd time around. Like this week when I was watching last weeks replay and listened closely to what Locke said to Jack, I also realized how ironic Jack's statement right after Locke's was.

Jack told Locke that nothing is irreversable. Seeing as it is Jack that tried to reverse the effect the Swan station had on their plane and Juliette saying "It worked" from the dead, I have a feeling the writers are telling us that it is Jack's nature to want to change things and that he succeeded. Just not in the way he expected.

I missed something, when did Jack talk to Locke in this episode?

Jack and Locke had the conversation that I mentioned in the season opener last week. They replayed it at 8/7c (before this weeks new episode) with those informational pop-ups at the bottom of the screen.
